Sands Beach Causeway
4Waters designed a150 foot long, 24 foot wide timber bridge providing access to Sands Beach, one of the only beaches in Beaufort County where cars and golf carts can drive on to the beach.
The access was previously affected by salt water tidally and had large holes that sometimes trapped or damaged vehicles. The causeway provides a safe route for vehicles and pedestrians to enjoy the beach. The project was completed in an expedited timeframe of 6 months from design to construction by use of the design-build methodology.
