GIS Technician
This position offers the opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented individual to join our team supporting GIS data development and maintenance for water, wastewater, stormwater, environmental, and infrastructure projects for municipal, federal, and military clients. This is a great fit for someone with GIS training or early-career experience looking to apply their skills to real-world engineering projects.
Successful candidate will have the following:
- High school diploma required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree, certificate, or coursework in GIS, geography, geomatics, or a related field preferred
- Experience or coursework using ArcGIS Pro or similar GIS software
- Comfortable working with computers, spreadsheets, databases, and large datasets
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to read maps, aerial imagery, and basic plans
- Good written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work independently and as part of a team
Responsibilities:
- Create, edit, and maintain GIS data using ArcGIS Pro, including digitizing water, wastewater, stormwater, and other infrastructure from record drawings, aerial imagery, and plans.
- Process GPS/GNSS and field-collected data, and perform GIS data QA/QC to identify missing information, connectivity issues, and other discrepancies.
- Prepare maps, figures, and exhibits for engineering reports, presentations, and client meetings.
- Assist with ArcGIS Online, Field Maps, Survey123, Dashboards, and other GIS applications used to support field data collection and engineering analysis.
