Four Waters Engineering is hiring a construction inspector for projects in Ridgeland and Port Royal, South Carolina. Ideal candidates will have previous experience in water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure projects and site/civil works. Job responsibilities primarily include observing contractor construction activities for various municipal and private development projects and reviewing construction work for compliance with drawings and specifications. Knowledge of, and ability to interpret, technical specifications, contract requirements, shop drawings, engineering drawings and standard construction details are critical requirements of the position. Experience using Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel and Word required. Knowledge of web-based data collection tools such as ArcGIS preferred or ability to acquire skill.

Primary Duties

• Inspections will be at various municipal and private development projects located in Ridgeland and Port Royal, SC
• Responsibilities will include observing that the work is completed in general accordance with the drawings and specifications.
• Daily field reporting, tracking contractor’s installed quantities, witnessing tests, documenting test results and serving as liaison between 4Waters, the utility Owner and the contractor.
• Perform other job responsibilities as assigned.
• Receives direction from Engineering Manager or project supervisor.
• Advocate for site safety and coordinate with public for safety awareness.
• Attend and record monthly/weekly/daily contractor and client meetings.
• Monitor and track additional work, change order work, or force account work.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay Rate: $22.00 – $35.00 per hour

Pay Classification: 1099

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week

Schedule:

• On call
• Nighttime and Weekends as needed

Ability to commute:

• Ideal location Jasper or Beaufort Counties, South Carolina or Savannah, Georgia
• Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

License/Certification:

• Driver’s License (Required)
• OSHA 10 and/or 30 preferred
